Marvel’s events are getting kind of ridiculous (there’s even a song about it). I’m afraid to pick up an issue with any of my favorite characters for fear of having to buy years of back issues to understand the first few pages. And then I bought the first issues of the new 52′s Batman and Green Lantern.
I used to have a strong dislike for DC (with the exception of Batman), and I didn’t even really have a reason for it. The more I read, however, the more I started getting into it. Now it’s at the point where I’ve bought over a dozen comics recently, all DC, and almost all current issues (just a couple of dollar bin deals). I’m in no way any less excited for the Avengers movie this summer, but I couldn’t care less about what’s happening in the comics.
Also, did anyone read the fifth issue of Batman? HOLY SHIT! If you haven’t, or aren’t reading, go to your local comic shop and pick them up! Why are you still here? Go!
