044 Robots Don’t Like Nicknames

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Bonus comic!  I’m hoping that when I get a more regular schedule I can do double comics more often, and maybe even all the time.  For now it’ll just be a surprise bonus.  I didn’t work on any wallpapers because I had an idea for one, but I wanted to get this comic up (didn’t want to ruin the name reveal).  I’ll work on them as soon as I finish Friday’s comic.

While coloring the comic in I realized I didn’t give Ray new positions for his hands, but I figured that his jaw dropped was funny enough.  Or maybe I was too lazy.  Let’s go with the first one.  I like it better.

Did anyone catch Fringe last night?  If so, doesn’t a three week wait just kill you?  It’s worse than waiting two weeks for The Sarah Connor Chronicles!  Now what am I going to watch?

I’m out for now, see you again on Friday!

Why do we always have that insaitable urge to give robots nicknames?

Because giving them nicknames makes treating them the same as you would a family pet not as weird?

Or in this case, to make light the fact that the robot is on a killing mission. I think.

I think it’s that need to make those cold, logical probably homicdal creations into something we’d want to hug, or like hang out with.
